WHAT IT DOES
This is for sanding large flat timber surfaces, particularly a first pass. Ideal for quickly getting a finish on new rough wood or for refinishing by removal of paint, varnish etc. before changing to a finishing sander. Look at an orbital sander if you want more control or a finer finish.

HOW TO USE IT
The sander can remove a lot of material quickly. Keep the motion even and take care. Always sand in the direction of the grain.

Work bench, clamps - Useful to hold your work securely in place.
You may need other types of sander for places the belt sander cannot reach, e.g. the edges of a floor. A detail sander or even a scraper or hand sanding block and paper may come in handy.
